Hi Alison
I am a nurse and am emigrating to Perth, I am also an Australian citizen, so do not need a visa. But when I emigrated the first time I had to apply as you are doing, I had been qualified for 12 months then, but I have heard that you may be able to apply as soon as you are qualified. Idont know how true this is. One of my colleagues emigrated to Perth a year ago, she had to have 12 months experience. It is best to find out for definite, you could try the immigration forum, they are pretty good on this side of things. I also live in Oldham at the moment. Good luck for the future, see you in Perth.

All the best

Hi, it depends which visa you want to apply for as to how much experience you need. if you have a look on the DIMMA website at booklet 6 the various visa types are explained. I'm looking at going to perth as well and have found all the info I need is available on this forum . Have a good look at booklet 6 then ask any questions on here, somebody is always around to offer help. Good luck, maybe see you in perth sometime

On a 134 visa (sponsored by the State) you only need 6 months experience. Go and check the Nurses section on this site

Have you considered RSMS? No experience needed (so long as the employer sponsoring you is happy with that of course), and instant PR so long as you live in the area for at least two years. Not sure if it's available in the Perth area however- possibly not; but is an option if you are prepared to be flexible as to where you want to live.

It is available in WA although when I last looked the DIMMA web site still did'nt say this but the WA gov site says so and has the forms to download.
