Nursery teacher looking for work
Hi All,
I am a nursery teacher and I want to do as much preparation as possible before arriving in Victoria. I am interested in where to search for teaching vacancies. Ideally I would like to work in a school setting rather than day care setting as that's where my experiences lie. Is there an equivalent to Borough or County vacancy lists? Any nursery teachers out there who can tell me the difference between Kindergarten and pre primary, if any. do certain settings use certain terms? Many thanks JAGK

Re: Nursery teacher looking for work
There are threads on the teaching forum about teaching in Vic which may help. Generally in order to be a teacher in a school in Aus you need to have a 4 year degree - either basic degree plus pgce or 4 years bachelors in ed.
Generally preschool teachers are similarly qualified in early education. Early childhood education has a different priority depending on where you live.
This may help with the terminology. It is very confusing because the states all do their own thing!
