Done it, finally booked flights for 21st June from Heathrow with Singapore Airlines, stopover for 3 nights to chill, (thanks GoBananas for recommendation of the Oriental) then land 25th June in Perth.......

recommend travelbag in Alton (0870 814 4440), very helpful, sorted all baggage allowance, seats, stopover etc etc and insureandgo (0870 901 3674) for one way insurance, v helpful guy from Perth - funny enough !!

So 5 weeks to go and really looking forward to it now, hope it comes round soon too for everyone else waiting, just keep drinking to keep you sane in meantime, esp sorting out all the paperwork!!!

p.s Singapore is great ! we stopped over a couple of years ago on our way back from Perth. If you are nearby Make sure you go to the garden bar at the Raffles hotel ( its beautifull ), even better was they only charged us half our bar bill at the end of the night ........ phewwww

Very best to you Teresa and Family, no chance of you making the Pompey meet on the 12th of June then lol! We received our bond request on Thursday so we are looking to be out there during the August school holidays. The panic is starting to set in.

Thanks Nicky, Raffles bar def on agenda, our fifth anniversary together whilst there so will get babysitter in hotel for the night


We are staying with friends in Butler (Brighton) to start with in Northern suburbs, we will look nearer to Perth though, not 100% sure yet, will take plenty of time to look around, where are you heading for?

Lisa, sorry really busy til we go so can't make pompey meet although will have barbie up and running for when you arrive, hope to see you in August.........

Well done, I am sure you will love the lifestyle and climate!! I am new to this forum and have found some useful info, I am addicted and I am never off the PC, my hubby is feeling neglected!!
We are currently waiting a decision from the TRA, the waiting is awful. We are hoping to go to Perth, my brother and his family have lived there for 13 yrs now. We have been twice and haven`t wanted to come back to the UK on both occasions.
If only is was as easy to get into Oz as it was to get into the UK???

Will be very interested to know what Butler is like and also nearby quinns rocks, as we have been thinking maybe settling there when ( and if ) we get to Perth.
We have a long way to go yet as we have just got most of the paper work ready for the TRA.
We have been to Perth 3 times now and love it! my mother-in-law lives in Ocean Reef which is a lovely place, but unfortunatley out of our price range
