Your point on sunshine hours is slightly odd as clearly that's partly the point anway, what it does reveal is this:

annual sunlight hours UK(London) =1494, Oz (Perth)= 2847, call it twice as much sun in Perth.

Soooo, adjusting for sunlight hours means divide the 4x above by twice as much sun =2x and what this means is that exposure to sun in Oz is twice as likely to give you skin cancer, or put it another way, sunlight in Oz is twice as dangerous as that in UK.

If you still dispute, conduct your own expirement (sic) by wearing SPF4 when in Oz.

All correct but this seems incomplete.

You need to also account for the fact that the typical working Ozzie, say a Children's TV presenter or surgeon, waiting on the train platform on his way to work on Monday morning in string vest and jandals is exposing twice as much flesh as the average Pom, say a hospital radio disc jockey or footballer, in their usual work gear of pinstripe suit, bowler hat and sock suspenders, and so you come to the conclusion that sunlight in Oz and UK are equally as dangerous.

Of course, this may also be incomplete.

Very good point! Besides - why would you want to go outside in the UK for the many days of the year when it's p*ssing down with rain ? ..

It's got to cut the exposure down hasn't it ?
