North or South of the river ( brisbane )
Just wandering if people had preferrences to living north or south of the river and what the pro's and con's may be : employment, commuting, future land development, education etc etc or does it make no difference whatsoever ?
Thanks,
Paul

One thing I have noticed is that the north side of Brisbane seems a lot more genteel.

One thing I have noticed recently, is how people talk about Brisbane, but really mean SE QLD. I noticed someone the other day mentioned Noosa, as part of Brisbane, but that is a little bit more North than most people would consider
There is also a lot of Development around the Deception Bay area, North Lakes, which is about the same distance North as Browns Plains is South.

If you speak to some one from North Brisbane, they will swear blind that the southside is the S***hoole of Australia. The same is true if you speak to people south of the river and their views of the north. The guys I work with all live in North Brisbane and most days I get some sort of ribbing about living 'southside'. I counter this with 'Not Southside....BAYSIDE!'. Seems to work most times.
