With just over a week to go before we fly to Melbourne, I now can't sleep, so am up in the middle of the night organising things (trying to not disturb the rest of the family!) Thank god the Olympics are on, at least I can have this on in the background as I sort things out and not feel like some looney who is the only person awake at 3am! The strange thing is I just don't feel tired....

Perfectly normal, you will feel better on arrival.

Yes welovebonds it will be normal. You are working on excitement and your adrenalin is flowing madly. You will probably feel knackard soon and probably a little stressful if your not organised - so do the checklist thing! Why not turn up the volume on the TV so that everyone else does'nt sleep and you never know, they might just help you? Best of luck

What you are feeling is completely normal. I was running on adrenalin for months before we left and I even found I was on 'automatic pilot' when saying my 'goodbyes' to people before we left.
The first time I cried was when we flew down the coast and I saw how beautiful the ocean and the coastline was and we could see Perth CBD as we flew along the river. Then I burst into tears. I felt quite odd, but it was all such a release of all the stress you feel in the run up to the move and we had a traumatic pack-up which didn't help.
Once we got here though and I saw the place through the window of the plane, all the emotion of the previous year just overcame me and I blubbed like a baby!
You'll be fine....I am sure it affects us all in one way or another.
