Default nightmare

:scared:

I need to vent some rage.

We are meant to be moving next week. Today the buyers solicitors are asking for renention of £2,000 as the road on our development has not yet been adopted by the council! Apparently they don't do this until the whole development is finished. We bought the house second hand and it wasn't a problem for us and obviously not for the countless houses that keep exchanging hands around us!- but they are being anal - anyone else had this problem?

Ahhhhhh

this sounds normal...my husband had the same problem selling his house as regards a problem with a water pipes and sewage(private) problem...I should try and get the retention amount down though(his solicitor did) from about the amount you mention to about £500.00 which he got back in about 6 months.....

Thanks Peppi & Hevs,

Yeah they called tonight and are pooing it because I got my usual strop on and threatened that we pull out. Can't deal with it anymore and have given Ed the list of numbers so he can have the stress for a day! I guess you are right especially if we can get it down to £500!!! Better to sell it than be stuck with it and still have to pay fees.
