Don't think it will so good now that they have been relegated from the Premiership

On a serious note, I haven't got a clue as I have never been there.

For what its worth... we really like Newcastle.
Good place to live with a family.
Great schools. Fab beaches. Beautiful places within a short reach (Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie, Barrington Tops amongst others.)
Town centre is very dull and has no central point of interest but big plans for a major rejuvenation and approval for injection of funding.
More affordable than Sydney but still only 2hrs away. No major congestion on the roads
Low unemployment. Safe.
On the down side we've found it hard to make many friends. It seems that most people have lived here for ever and have a very full social network not allowing much time for new comers. I'm not saying people are unfriendly, far from it, but its hard to go beyond the superficial chit chat. I'm sure this is true for many regional towns in Oz.
Its also has the poorest standard of driving anywhere in the modern world (Yes... entirely my opinion)
Apart from that, we love it!
Happy to answer any questions.
