Default New to Terrigal

Just moved to Terrigal with hubbie. Both early 30s and want to make some friends. I'm into surfing and my other half is looking for some fishing buddies. We both like socialising. Any suggestions on meet-ups for people new to the area?

I love the look of Terrigal, decent prices for houses too, its just too awkward to daily commute to the Sydney CBD though otherwise thats where Mrs Paddyo would want to live!

We like it too and have wondered if we should look for a place up there. It is a long way though so we are thinking we could buy up there and rent a small studio apartment in Sydney so only commute every other day or something. I think if we bought at the right price we would be no worse off than we are now renting in Collaroy.

Sorry for off topic Sal, I think there are a couple of people just moved up to the central coast, hopefully they will see your thread soon.

Hi we're in Wamberal in our 40's but still like socialising, 12 yr old son loves surfing & me & 23 yr old stepson do a bit of fishing at the haven.
Not many meet ups round here but lots of expats about.
If you fancy a drink in the crown plaza, terrigal pub or breakers country club give us a pm.

My husbands looking for work on the central coast- project management/business change. He'd prob get a job far more easily in CBD though. It's a quandary. We'll just have to see how things pan out. Send us a message though if you ever do end up this way

Certainly a consideration. We spent a few months in the Northern beaches before deciding to give the central coast a go. We were getting stressed with the traffic and trying to find a reasonably priced 2 bed flat to rent not to far from a nice surf beach. If you're working in the CBD, the commute daily would be a killer. Prob 2 hours each way. A few days a week would be ok though and as you mentioned property prices are still affordable up here.

Yes I was thinking 2 hours each way. I couldn't do that as I already work long hours. However if we had the flat in Sydney I could alternate and only ever to the long journey once a day, either in the morning or in the evening.

We are seriously thinking it through anyway.

Where are you working now?

Neither of us are working at the mo. I'm a secondary school teacher and the kids don't go back till end of Jan. Nick (husband) is looking for project management work. We moved to Terrigal just before Christmas then spent Christmas near Brisbane with friends. We just got back a few days ago so now it's time to sort our lives out (

Are you surfing or fishing this weekend?

Hiya,

I am in Green Point and have been here since July 2010 after moving up from North Shore. Hubby commutes to CBD and I am here with three terrors under 4! Would love to also meet any other mums in the area?

Christina
