Re: New Life Begins...
If something seems a bit crap, whatever you do dont point it out to an aussie, they really dont like it if you do that. They believe they live in the best place in the world so talking about something that seems a bit naff to you will really annoy them, even though you might mean no harm and are just making conversation.
Remeber you are in their country and so you have to try to adapt to them and will have to put up with some things being worse than your used to and other things being very different. I thought I was very open minded when I arrived but would often question locals or compare things to the UK (which more often was better) this was a mistake, even though I never meant anything bad by it, it made me a few enemys
Good luck
Not something I have managed or want to do Besides they admire a bit of spirit

How exciting!! Good luck to you! My only advice .... try not to get bogged down by all the sorting and settling on arrival. Take a little time out occasionally for some "holiday" time too

Not had any grief when I've said something was rubbish or naff or pointless. 9 times out of 10 they've agreed with me. If I've said something was good, they've looked at me in amazement and said they thought it was crap.
Enjoy the ride and like any roller coaster remember that some bits of it will make you feel sick whilst other bits excite the hell out of you.
