- My wife is a student nurse and has two years to go on her course. She has to do a years work for the trust that seconded her so we are looking at 2010 at the earliest. I will be 43 and my wife will be 42 then. How easy is it for a nurse to get it (with only a years experience) and what tests etc would she have to do? What can she expect to earn?
- I am a firefighter. How long would I have to wait till I could apply for the oz fire service?
- I am thinking of retraining for another career as a “plan Bâ€. What would be a good occupation to go for? I was thinking of a sports injury course?
Looking forward to reading the replies.

Hi
I would ring an agent, try Darren at Visa-Go, if you do a search, you'll find him in google. He sorted our visas, My SIL visa and a friends and he will let you know over the phone whether he thinks you can get one or the best thing to do to enable you to get one. He is based in Scotland and won't charge for advice.
Good luck

I'm not sure how much experience you need as a nurse, but you'll probably be able to find out here http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=72
There is a big demand for nurses at the minute.
Don't know anything about firefighters. There are a few that post on here though so one of them may be able to help there.
Hairdressers are in demand as well. It's not the best paid job but it will get her in the country providing the rules don't change before she is able to apply. Skills for hairdressers are assessed by the TRA, full details here http://www.workplace.gov.au/workplac...oAustralia.htm
I'm sure there will be someone who can answer better than me, but there's a starting point for you

hi there
your wife will have no problem getting a visa, they only require that you have worked for 12 out of the previous 18 months as a nurse which she will have done (i am a nurse), your daughter should be ok as well as hairdresses are on the wanted list!
With all the bush fires you should be in high demand!!!!
I wouldnt live were you brother does unless of course you are a very good swimmer!!!!
I would use a agent though, we did and they saved us alot of grief and time.
Good luck
