Question New.....and coming home

Doh! I posted this in the wrong forum!!

Hi all!!

Just found this forum tonight and thought...well hoped...someone might be able to help.

I am an Aussie Cit...and bringing home with me a pommie hubby. We are looking at wanting to bring home some money with us but are a little confused about the best way to do it.

Can anyone help based on their own experience??

Cheers!!

There are quite a few FX agencies out there who reckon they can beat any bank rates. Have a look at the Go Matilda site - they reckon they can put you in touch with reputable companies that can save you some dosh

ABC Diamond......Yup...we opened a Comm Bank account when we were in Oz last year....But have heard they dont give the best exchange rates....Just not sure how safe the other options are in comparison....

NedKelly63....I am actually using GoMatilda for my hubby's visa....and have contacted one of the companies they recommend....

Was hoping that I could get some feedback on what people that have done it experienced and what they thought was the best way...yanno???

A lot of people on here have used HIFX very satisfactorily.

Another thread today also mentioned that HSBC did a transfer at a better rate than HIFX, this thread, but as you have an account already with CBA , then maybe HIFX would be a good way.

Unless you get a quote from HIFX and then get CBA to match it ?
