A big hello to everyone!
I've been reading this website for ages & have finally taken the step to ask for some advice if there is anyone willing to help me out.
I'm 38 & like so many others have dreamt about living in OZ for as long as I can remember. Have never had the opportunity to visit Oz but have read, watched & searched the internet over & over & still want it. My two boys (aged 15 & 11) think i'm bonkers but would love to do it too.
My OH is 42, an overworked Aftersales Manager for a toyota dealership, and has had enough basically. OH is a qualified mechanic by trade and has worked his way up to management level over the past couple of years. Does anyone know if we would have any hope of him finding work in OZ? I know mechanics are on the skills shortages list but where would we need to start?
Sorry to waffle, but if anyone can help please let me know.

Hi Lisa, welcome to the forum.
The first place to start is with the Skilled Occupations List. Find the exact occupation that matches what your OH does, then look up who is the assessing body (I think it's TRA for mechanics and the like?). At the bottom of the doc from the link above, you will find the website of the assessing body. Have a look up on there to see what the exact requirements are and if OH meets them, then go from there!!

Hi we submitted our 136 application last May. Meds and pcc were sent 1st Dec so we are back to waiting again. PLan on relocating to Brisbane hopefully by the middle of the year. The waiting is so frustrating but hey all good things come to those who wait.
Good luck for you and your family
