need info
Hi All,
I just wanna know what is the visa processing time for IT people on general skilled migration basis. Since minister suspends the preority for IT people, what is the maximum visa processing time and still IT professionals get 5 points on "skilled on demand" basis ??????

It all depends....you, your background, job offer in hand or not, time of year,
is all your paperwork (including medical) in order.....that's like asking "how
big is a stick."

In my experience, the longest part of the process was getting the Australian Computer
Society to do the skills assessment. The rest was straightforward
Just make sure that you have A Police criminal record check - In the UK that took mw
6 weeks, so start that as early as possible Certified Copies of ALL educational
certificates Get references from all companies from which you have ever worked at ,
and ensure that the references from places you have worked for the last 3 years are
detailed. Ensure that all references are on Company Headed notepaper.
Send all of these in as early as possible. There is no need to wait for them to ask
for them before sending them.
From applying to getting the Visa took me 2.5 months , of which 1 month was waiting
for ACS to get the assessment to the DIMA in Manchester
