Re: Need cheering up.....
Really sorry to hear how ill you've been - can sympathise... I managed to get 2 types of typhoid and paratyphoid in one hit a few years ago and was astounded at how long the wet rag feeling lasted.... but it DOES go, so just go with it for now and do as little as you need... Glad your parents are arriving - best medicine is rest and lots of cuddles...
Hope you bounce back soon, Floss :) |

Anyone want to condense the past five days events into a brief summary for me please? Just brief but, I don't want another stonking headache. Would just like to add that this weeks events (in my life, not on the forum) prove yet again that life is way too short. Cheers, Leigh. :) Cheers Ginny |

Hope you are feeling better soon.............meningitis can be sooooo nasty. Keep trying to drink plenty of anything that stays down (diet coke is good).....and nibble tiny bits of whatever takes your fancy - bread, biccies, monster munch, midget gems (oh, sorry...thats me) and get plenty of sleep!!! You will feel crappy for the next couple of weeks, but you should see an improvement soon after that. your body has taken one of the worst bashings it could take.... worse (if thats possible) than childbirth! At least its not the middle of summer there yet, so getting a daily walk round the garden will do you good too, but go gently and dont try to do too much! So rest, rest, rest.......you will soon feel much better! sue x |

I can totally sympathise with how you are feeling having had viral meningitis a couple of years ago. At least now you are home in your own comforts and have your parents to come and look after you!!! Hope you continue to improve!! Take care Roni |
Re: Need cheering up.....
Forgot to add when you're feeling up to it take a look on the websites for meningitis trust and meningitis research. Lots of useful info and support there :)

Re: Need cheering up.....
Get well soon, Leigh :)
Scary though eh? My son (now 15) caught viral meningitis within hours of his birth and had a lumbar puncture. They would let me near him while it was being done. I wonder why  And my eldest daughter (now 16) had suspected bacterial meningitis about 5 years ago. Never been so scared in my life, but fortunately it was a false alarm. Enjoy the pampering from your parents :D Julie |
