Default Need for certification to work as a waiter/bartender in Perth?

My OH has worked as a waiter in the US for 8 years. He is thinking of getting a casual job in Perth that will tide us over first. Does he need to get any certificate for handling food or alcohol in a restaurant/cafe?

In NSW you have to do a RSA (responsible service of alcohol) course to work in a bar and if they have slot machines you also need a RCG license too.
My son did both of his over 2 evenings at the local Catholic Club cost about $70 each.

Not sure if its the same in WA though sorry, when I googled RSA it bought up loads of links for Sydney so maybe you wont need it.

Having some sort of hospitality certificate or qualification, or the willingness to attain one in Australia, with appropriate alcohol/gambling qualifications, would be a great help, especially if there are others applying for the job that have them. Australia now requires just about everyone to have a certificate or checkable qualification for just about anything.
Here are some courses offered through WA TAFE.....
