Hi All
We will be arriving in the Maroochydore/Mooloolaba area of the sunshine coast at the end of September (after an agonising two year wait for our 136 Visa)
We are hoping to rent a temporary appartment for maybe two weeks whilst we look for a house to rent.
Can anyone out there recommend any appartments that have Wifi access in the rooms. We need this as we will be using the internet extensively to search for new houses and all other aspects of our big move.
On previous visits to Oz we have been disapointed with rooms that state they have internet access, only to find out they just have a standard telephone line that can be used !!!!
Hoping someone can help.

Thats what you will get in most hotels/apartments here. Not quite as technologically advanced yet. I'm not saying you won't get anywhere with wifi, but be prepared to use good old dial-up.
I send a lot of senior govt staff away on courses etc staying in hotels and the majority use dial-up. The couple that do have wireless cards have frequent problems.

I had a wireless connection from 3 when I first arived. It was fine but DSL was definately required later. Best bet is Dial-Up, a nice neighbour to let u use theirs or an internet cafe.

Internet / Broadband is a real eye opener to Australia compared to Europe/USA. Expect high costs, low speeds and low availability.

the first few days we arrived we drove around in car and used other peoples unsecured wifi to collect emails not right I know needs must and all that,when we settled north lakes way we used the libary till we had a connection at our rental
