NAB does it AGAIN!

NAB customers have been left frustrated after yet another technical mishap prevented many loyal customers from being paid.

When Ms Joyner contacted NAB she was told they had encountered technical problems overnight affecting direct salaries as well as other services.

It is unknown how long it will be before customers will receive their payments.
..anyone else salaryless today?

First Credit card payment, looking to pay off balance of interest free CC I got after arriving, if payment is late I lose the interest free status :eek:
First months content insurance

all due out today

So alot to lose

Yup, my NAB credit card is due to be paid today...I've been meaning to try and change the due date so it doesn't fall on the same day as pay day but I really shouldn't have to! I'm sure they'll waive any fees they might otherwise charge.

Yep, no salary...this is beyond comprehension.


NAB is currently experiencing some delays, some transactions may not be appearing in customer accounts and some account balances may not be up to date.

We are working to rectify the situation and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Updates will be made later today.
Later today ? What updates ? Just get the bloody thing working again...

Does their system run on two wheels and an elastic band ? Is the IT guy who presses the "Credit to Account" button off sick !

I have had enough....I am off to ANZ....tossers

You know something I think I will as well, in 6 weeks since I got here I've had the following

1. Opened joint account from UK, arrived 4 weeks before wife and went to verify account, all fine apparently. 2 weeks later I get paid but account is blocked because my wife hasn't verified. No one from NAB knew this was going to happen or how to fix it.

2. Tried phoning telephone banking a few times, never anyone there. Eventually realised it closes at 9pm Sydney time, so 8pm in Brisbane.
8pm :eek:. 24hrs a day in UK.

3. Paying credit card, all 3 of my UK credit cards let you pay online with a Visa debit card or switch before that, not NAB apparently, NAB also doesn't give you the facility to pay with a Visa debit card on the phone either as I found out this morning.

4. I applied for an overdraft 10 days ago, 3 days later got told it was accepted, 1 week later nothing. Decision immediately and put on overnight in UK.

Not surprised NAB can afford to offer accounts with no charges, they've no ****** staff to do anything so have low overheads!!

I think you right be right mate....The benefit I have is that ANZ waive the monthly fee for employees of my employer :)

I'm breaking up with NAB!

I think this is now the 3rd "glitch" from NAB in a short space of time. Money hasn't been paid into my account today.

:D...I wonder how many phone calls they're going to get from people saying, "I'm breaking up with you!"?

I'm torn, I like my NAB account but these ongoing issues are pretty unacceptable.

Want to blame someone/something? Then blame the outsourcing deal NAB made with IBM.
IBM do the IT for NAB after NAB outsourced it all to them in a lousily managed deal that left many of NAB's staff totally pissed off with it all.

Been there, done that...still got the t-shirt! Will investigate the options...couple of OS trips planned soon and my NAB account gives truly free ATM withdrawals at great rates, might have to wait.

Considering going back to ING Direct, but issue is ATM withdrawals below $200 incur a fee - or looking at Bank of Queensland, where withdrawals are free from rediATMs which include NAB.

Have a look at HSBC. I've been with them nearly 6 years and not had one problem. They only have a few branches but you don't need them really. I'm with ANZ too and have also never had a problem.

HSBC also have a deal with Westpac and you have FREE unlimited withdrawals from Westpac ATMs with your HSBC card. Westpac ATMs are a dime a dozen so it makes it easy to bank with HSBC even with the small number of branches, unless you need to make regular cash deposits at the counter. I hardly ever do so it bothers me not.

I am holding my breath that the NAB glitch doesn't affect us this time as HSBC use NAB as a clearing house so we were affected last time. Will find out tomorrow...

Personally wouldnt touch HSBC with a bargepole - tried to open an account with them and had no end of problems. I did the application etc and was told to wait to be notified further. Then go told by letter to go in with ID which i did - they photocopied passport etc.and was told it would be about a week - 10days.
Two 1/2 weeks later had heard nothing - phoned up, they had no record of me or my application. It was 'lost'. Was not happy about a pile of paperwork, including my passport details, other c/c details etc being 'lost'.:ohmy:
They told me to start again with a new application at which point i said no, just forget it im going elsewhere. I subsequently got several phone calls from them asking me to come in with my proof of ID again and had to keep telling them to bog off. :frown:
Then mysteriously a month and a half later i got issued with a bank-card from them.... :eek:idiots.:thumbdown:

I don't bank with NAB but have still not been paid today. All because the company uses NAB for the transaction.

A day or two late will not bother me, but sure there are lots of people that depend on being paid on the button.

More proof that outsourcing your core systems is a quick path to disaster.

Hmmm, we'll see. I just spoke to someone, she said ring us back if you don't have anything by MONDAY! She didn't get paid either today.

Just applied for ANZ account and already it has been setup and all I have to do now is go to the branch to verify the account....took 1 hour max for the account to be setup !

Other banks will now be taking on extra staff to process new accounts for ex-NAB customers !

I didn't actually say blame IBM, just blame the deal. Outsourcing always causes disruption, morale collapse and job losses. I should know, I work for an outsourcer !!

Me too. HSBC service is outstanding. Free withdrawals from St George and Westpac ATM's. ....... and if you're lucky enough to get a Premier account you can transfer money back and forth from your UK HSBC account instantly with no charge - slight and only very slight hit on FX rate.

Just closed my Comm Bank account ..... What's with the Aussie banks?

We were with NAB then changed to ANZ due to mortgage. Really dont like ANZ's on line banking thing. NAB'S is instant and I need to know what is in my account as it happens. We are getting a new mortgage with NAB again now as ANZ no longer do low doc....I'm hoping by May 30th they have sorted this crap out. Still happy to be going back to them though as our local branch staff are really helpful.

...I think it also should include Infosys , HCL etc....yes all is outsourced which results in no care and no interest. To make matters worse they have just recruited the head of IBM in A/P to be one of their new supremo IT GM's in their project / governance area....jobs for the boys (or in this case Girls..)
