hahaha you naughty man you ;)

We went up there many times before you had to pay and I don't think either of us are keen to go back up there, there are better free views else where :D

Once with an uncle was enough - he (along time local) was outraged that they now charge - but hey the view was worth it - a very clear Sunday morning with views out to Williamstown and CBD.

That must have been a pretty clear day :D

Is it a teahouse on top there now? We only saw it under construction so no idea what it was they were building.

There was a cafe/teahouse but the coffee was terrible so we went on to a place further down the road and had fantastic meat pies and "local" coffee (ie hit the spot). That reminds me I promised the wife we would go back this summer and try out the pancake place.

I will be working in the Inner East area (Kew), any opinions on where is good place to live? (or bad place that i should stay away from?)

cheers

Lots of good areas around there, but very pricey. Depends what you're looking for. Without kids, Richmond, Kew, Hawthorn are all fun areas. Ivanhoe is just to the North, Camberwell isn't too far away and Canterbury is good. All these areas, besides Ivanhoe, are really pricey. Kew is situated in the middle of a really expensive belt, as can be seen by the fact that most of the top private schools are within spitting distance.

If price is an issue, then you may consider moving a bit further away and commuting.

Ooooo agree- lived there for a year. Excellent transport links, nice shops, not too far from anywhere. I used to cycle to the CBD.

Hi there
We are arriving in Melbourne on a 457 visa mid December so it is great to read positive views. Congratulations! We also have the huge task of finding a suburb and a rental - not going to be too easy trailing 2 young kids with us.
