I am not a lawyer but potentially they could recruit someone from the other side of the world, fly them over first class put them up in a 5 star hotel and make you pay for it. In practice, though, I have never heard of anything like that and I doubt it would come to anything.

That suggests to me that on leaving you would have to handover to your successor and you won't get paid for your time! Sounds a little unreasonable but I can't think what costs other than time there would be for a handover.

Cross it out, and get the agent to write his understanding.. no confusion then. It looks a bit ropey without

I wouldn't sign any employment contract that would leave me open to having to pay to resign... which is what it looks like...

My interpretation is that if the new person didn't understand what you'd done in a programe you'd be legally obliged to explain it to him.... with no pay and no time limit to when they could contact you....
Don't bother with the agent, consult an aussie employment lawyer, with the new workplace agreements you can't be too careful!

You're not a slave!!! You shouldn't have to 'pay' for your freedom!!!

Is this maybe to do with your visa? Is your employer sponsoring you? Are they maybe saying that if you leave before your time is up, you will have to pay to transfer you sponsorship to a different employer?
