Must see tonight
For all of us stuck in Blighty on this perishingly cold Friday evening, BBC2 at 9pm might make interesting viewing. Called 'The Floating Brothel', apparently not long after the early colonisation around Sydney Cove, it occurred to the Great & Good back in Blighty that the new colony wouldn't last long without the introduction of a few women.
Women of dubious reputation were bundled onto a ship and transported to Sydney Cove. Some of their descendants have traced their own roots back to these women. One of them lived to a ripe old age and was prolific. By the time of her death, her direct descendants numbered 300 (so Auntie Beeb claims, anyway.) Its only an hour-long docu-drama, so it won't interfere with a few jars in the local ale-house afterwards.
Send the men to get the place started, but then send The Monstrous Regiment of Women to get it organised and running smoothly, I suspect.....!
Cheers
Gill

Best thing is to look at www,bbc.co.uk/timewatch, click the feedback option and ask about repeats, I suggest. Auntie Beeb alwats replies, and the replies are always helpful, I've found.
