Question Multi-region DVD players

Is it possible to buy a multi-region DVD player in Oz? I'm thinking about buying one before I go in case I can't get one over there. I have found a good one for about £60.

Is it likely I can get something in Australia that cheap or should I go for it? I've got room left to ship it so that's not an issue!

Yep you can get them here no problem but not sure about price. We have a computer hooked up to our tv these days so it has been awhile since we bought one.

Here is one from Dick Smith Electronics. It is $49, isn't multiregion straight out of the box but the procedure to make it so is on that page I have linked to.

Also this one for $39.

Go to Rick Hart Seconds. I bought a multi region for $90 there. Its a good place to buy vfm stuff. Not seconds, more superceded stock, showroom stuff.

One of the examples I linked to above played everything. I think it was the $35 one so that is about as cheap as they get

Aldi have one in stock permanently.... 49 bucks.... It has been as low on special at 39 bucks.

Tevion 5.1 channel... works brilliantly. Even has progressive scan.

Strathfeild always have them cheap as well..... Strathfeild product isn't as good in my opinion.

If that's a 5.1 channel rather than a 2 channel one then thats the cheapest I've heard of.

All DVD players down that end of the market are multi region now days.

Hi

Even if you buy a cheap one that's not multi region you can just find a hacker code on the net to change it to multi region. Bought our LG one here and it now plays all our UK dvds.

I've used this site twice to successfully change a DVD player to mult-region: Link
