Hi there, we have been using a company called Thames Consular Ltd, they are based in London and have been absoultley wonderful. All staff are originally from Australia. If you need a number or anything just let me know. The whole process from start to finish has taken approximatley 13 months. Good luck

haha - its really wierd cos i'm usually the one stressing about stuff but on this occasion i just think that lifes for the living and a move to oz could only be a good thing. my partner on the other hand who is usually so laid back he's almost horizontal is the one freaking out!!! Thanks for that richard007 - the thought of my bloke surfing has had me chuckling all day!! lol

Thanks cheekivimto. What is confusing me are all the tra and pcc business - what does it all mean?? arggh!!!

Wer used Concept Oz too. The only gripe we had with them(which might be the same for all agents) is that they spoon-fed us the details of the documents we had to get certified. It's probably so they don't scare you with the amount there is but we thought it would have been helpful to have had a list of what we needed to get signed at the beginning as getting a JP or solicitor to sign stuff becomes costly when you have to keep going back wiht more things to sign! We had a family friend(JP) do ours ohterwise it would have cost a fortune in their fees!!! Might be worth asking the agent you go with if that's a possibility??!!
Oh, and just as a point of interest.... in Oz the JP's have certain days when they are in the shopping centres and you can get your stuff signed for free!!! How cool is that?!?!

Sorry for interrupting your conflab but TRA is trades recongition and PCC are the police clearance forms that you have to do

RE getting the certificates signed there are a lot of magistrates courts that will do it for nothing or a very inimal fee for the job lot. We paid £1 per certificate with a solicitor and then learned that the magistrates court in Preston does it free of charge. Totally infuriating at the time but if others find out about it then it'll be better for them. Sometimes you have to make an appointment to work around them though so it may mean time off work. We're using Ambler Collins in London, they are very efficient so far and are excellent on communication, over 25 years in business so they know exactly what they are talking about and even understand my lack of patience even at this early stage :):)

hello and welcome newbie i have been on hear for ages looking at diffrent ways i have just come back from our first hoilday in australia and oh boy i want to be there. so we have been on this site for a while ,and and have decided to take the bull by the horns finally, we was lookng at the skilled pathway but i havent got the 6 years exp in hairdressing as im told we would need so we was looking at maybe a working visa its a gamble but we want it so bad now, i have a brother and sister over there aswell has lots of nieces and nephews,so if enyone has got any ideas then great would love to hear from enybody who have taken this path way or there are more pathways to choose from

Hi and welcome, the start of a long and sometimes bumpy ride. Agree with above get at least 3 copies of everything when you go to the solictors.
