mt cotton 'v' Vic point PREP
Just in the process of enrolling child for prep jan 2009.
Can anyone give me thoughts/advice/genuine help on deciding between Mt Cotton school & Victoria point school?
Don't get me wrong, academic results are valid (i was "state" taught & now academic), but no where near the "be all & end all". Most importantly i want him to enjoy his early years whilst learning. I want the school to "fit" my son rather than he '"fit" the school.
He is already writing/spelling etc, and i would like the school to continue to support him.
I have been to open days at both and they are soooo different!
Mt cotton....small/friendly/calm vibe, Victoria point.....big/noisy/fun vibe (classrooms more "typical" of UK).
I have also looked at school reports...Mt Cotton marginally more positive.
PLEASE can anyone make genuine comments about either (no myths...hearsay....as not helpful!).
Thanks guys!!!

Re: mt cotton 'v' Vic point PREP
Hi Michelle
My daughter went to VP for 18 months before she went to High School. I would not recommend it in the slightest and with hindsight I wish we had moved her to another school. She is an easy going child but she was not happy there. There was little discipline and some of the children seemed out of control. I have heard that Mt Cotton and Redland Bay both have better reputations.
Sorry - Edited to say that I don't know what the prep classes are like.
