Been living in perth for 2.5 years now and have a job opportunity come up over east. As it's a fifo position I can live anywhere, not sure about melbourne because of the weather and quite fancy sydney as it's got more going on than perth does. Is there such a suburb which is fairly new build,30 minutes from the city and 30 minutes away from a beach..? I have a young family to think off
Any advice will be great fully received..

Travel times will depend on mode of transport and time of day, but house costs/your budget will impact on where you look as well.

If you are fly in/fly out then surely you will also want proximity to the airport? It is a pain in the backside trying to get across from northern beaches to the airport.

My feeling is you probably should look at the budget again or reconsider Sydney, it is much more expensive city than Perth when it comes to accommodation.

I think 30 minutes from the city is pretty ambitious for $600 per week assuming you need a house not an apartment? Or are you ok with an apartment? Plenty of places will be 30 minutes from the beach however, too many to mention really, with it being a coastal city.

Hi thanks for your help, how far out would I have to go to get what I'm after..? I don't mind being 45 minutes out of the CBD but want to be within 30 minutes from a beach. If it's not possible I may have to consider Melbourne, but I'm not sure about the weather there.
As I said, there are many places within 30 minutes from the beach, what with Sydney being on the coast. It is the 30 to 45 minutes to the CBD for $600 that makes it a bit tricky. You won't be in the Eastern Suburbs, Northern Beaches or the good suburbs of the North Shore for that. However I have had a look around on www.domain.com.au and places around Ryde might fit the bill in terms of cost and distance to beach and city. You could try those, I am not sure what the areas are like though and the houses for $600 and under look a bit tired.

I agree with Bermuda any house would be well over 600 however you might find an apartment but you will have to look hard and be in Sydney to get friendly with the agents then you might get something off list.
you are probably looking at a 1 bed apartment 2 at most.
there are very few new builds around Sydney and most of them go for premium prices.
inner city apartments go for 900 upwards 30 minutes out is still pretty expensive, the cheaper areas are in the west with most of the new builds there but no beaches, otherwise north and south have beaches but are more than 30 mins from the city
