Default Moving money to the UK from Aus

We've just done a pretty silly thing and moved too much money over from a UK bank to pay a deposit on a house so we now have around $25,000 that we either need to move back or put into something here. Now I'm sure that we'll have all sorts of suggestions (such as donating it to worthy expats ) but apart from that has anyone done much of this sort of thing? Or is there a recommended savings account or plan that we could put it into here? Any (sensible!) ideas or suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Mike and Sarah

No point sending it back as interest rates are better here for savings accounts. Bank West offer a 6% savings account at the moment.

Cheers

Or ING DIRECT at www.ingdirect.com.au 5.6% no minimum's, Doesn't matter what amount you have in there, all be it $1 or 500K, there's no fee's and it's totally liquid. Highest I'm seeing with Bank West is 5.5% and that's with 500K or more in there

Looks like you may need to have another account with them but 6.4% for 12 months is pretty good.
