Default moving to melbourne

we are moving to melbourne in the next couple of weeks and are looking at the following areas:Boxhill, Nunawaddy, Mitcham, Ringwood, Croydon, Wanterina, Heathmont and Boronia .
It is not set in concrete but these are the areas we have been recommended in our price range as good. can anyone give me any advice on good secondary schools in these, or neighbouring areas(state or private), as long as it is mixed.
We are currently in Perth, and , although pretty, there is just not enough going on for us. Can anyone give us a comparison on the two cities?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Have you tried posting this on Britvics? I know there are some on there that could give an answer to the comparison.

hi
not been to perth, but have just come back from a validation trip fom melbourne.
we stayed in croydon whilst out there and found the area very pleasent, did not look at schools though........other areas around there that we found quite pleasent were the basin and areas of bayswater..
we are hoping to move june and are looking at the berwick area.
alot depends on what you are looking for but as the other reply said look at britvics they will have more details on the questions you have raised

I can definitely recommend The Basin We've been here 18 months now and it's just a great area and so beautiful. Even have our own proper pub, wine bar, theatre and annual music festival. Ten minutes to the lovely hill villages of Olinda and Sassafras and 10 mins in the other direction to Knox Mall.
Very friendly, great little community - just fab for us!
