Hi Peter,
Mt Gravatt is a post WW2 area close to city. Houses vary from older timber framed on stumps to new (especially on elevated sites - views of city).
A mixture of service industries and retail (Garden City) along Logan Road.

Close to Griffith Uni campuses and TAFE college.

Search www.realestate.com.au for houses to give you an idea of what the area is like.

I used to live there - its the only place in suburban Brisbane that I have seen a gang beat someone up. But the shopping centre there is very good.

Take that how you wish.

Yes the shopping centre is good. I think I heard on the news that somebody was stabbed there last week though. :scared:
Personally I would not live there by choice but a lot of people do. Think Milton Keynes.

F**K sake some ppl on here post utter crap.

Mt Gravatt is a very very nice suburb. SOme homes valued at over 5 million.

Brilliant access to the city. Some cracking houses, on "stumps" and a nice community atmosphere.

Some EXCELLENT scored schooling for all ages.

Spot on transport into and out of town.

3 mins to M1 MAJOR shops and hundreds of restaurants. Also up Mains rd to Ipswich and beyond

i Have many friends living in this area, and i have NEVER heard any bad words about the area, and I have commuted in and out of Mt Gravatt daily !!

Didnt hear about the stabbing, although it doesnt surprise me. Was it in the town square area (where the pub is) by any chance?

Thanx Fuzzy & ABC, found it in the Police website.

Stabbing, Mt Gravatt: A 16-year-old male is assisting police following the stabbing of two men in the car park of the Garden City Shopping Centre, Mt Gravatt around one o'clock this morning. The victims, both 21 years old, were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. One of the victims received several stab wounds, while the other received less serious cuts to his back. It is believed the stabbing occurred following a confrontation between two groups in the car park.
Sh*t can happen anywhere but gangs are best off being avoided.

Property in Mount Gravatt can range from $130,000 to $795,000 according to a property search on realestate.com.au

I assume the areas in Mount Gravatt will vary accordingly.

Not a bad area in my opinion!
You could live in worse http://www.bananasinpyjamas.com/quee...0/s1226399.htm and get shot by a drunken driving drug dealer!

Couldn't agree more!
Avoid gang areas!

Mt Gravatt used to be a "working class" suburb, but that is slowly changing as ex-apartment dwellers discovering that they still want to be close to the city and have room for ankle biters. Unfortunately, I think there are developers, sitting on properties, waiting for the area to become "discovered" so they can redevelop.

Liveable? Like anywhere, the good can be mixed with the not so good.
