Ok, SHMBO has just handed me some checkout bills, so here goes (annoyingly some quantities aren't listed):
Safeway
milk 1 litre $1.80
yoghourt (plain, low fat) 1kg $3.68
Nestlé Club 200g $3.31
bread (wholemeal loaf) 850g $2.68
Dove chocolate 200g $3.22
The Age (newspaper, Sunday edition) $1.50
mustard 125g $1.88
green cabbage (one large, dare I say immense) $3.48
tomatoes $2.75/kg
Coles
unsalted butter 250g $1.21 (half the UK price!)
tinned cannellini beans 400g $0.99
tinned chick peas 400g $0.99
orange juice (real stuff made from 100% oranges) (2 litres?) $4.98
mineral water 1.25 litres $0.81
ground coffee (i.e. not instant) (200g?) $4.50
peppermint teabags (10) $1.66
peppermints 25g $0.59
cucumber $1.28
bananas $1.88/kg
the inevitable iceberg lettuce $1.48
AFAIR mature cheddar cheese is about the same as in the UK (up to $20/kg).

I now declare this thread in danger of being hijacked. That's enough offers of marriage thank you! (I know, who said you were talking about marriage...)

Dan Murphy is on the web... www.danmurphy.com.au
There is normally a list of specials every couple of weeks - wine, beer, spirits. You can pick up the specials leaflets in store or download from the site
Anya, we used to buy our fresh OJ from Leo's in Kew. It was truly lovely.... But we also have a fab juicer - I would definately recommend you get one - pineapple, kiwi, ornge, apple.....yummy!
Hmm, Leo's an upscale deli...I didn't realise we were so posh!

LOL.... Just be in the lounge, where some fools are condoning the posting of a naked kid up in there, WBB being one of them
The world is not what it use to be, and we all heard stories, and seen it on the news, about little kids having their dignity taken away from them.
Especially when it's not your kid, I don't see why you will want to post a pic like that up, about kids using two hands
Anyway...back to the thread
