Hi all,

It's almost 2 years since I joined British Expats, and probably more than a year since I became a moderator here (I can't remember when I took on the job, really).

Some of you might have noticed that my daily takings here have dropped to almost zero since a few weeks ago. I'm wondering if you all think it's time for a new (or perhaps additional) moderator to run things here on the Australia/NZ forums?

Regards,
Peter

Sorry for sounding thick, but what do you mean by your daily takings have dropped to zero?

Far be it from me to give praise as I'm not into the lovey-dovey stuff but you have done a great job as moderator.

Am i correct in thinking that you are more occupied with your life outside this forum these days ?

I think an additional moderator to assist you would be an idea.

Just to assist, not instead !

Sorry, I guess I wasn't being totally clear.

What I meant is that for the past few weeks, I haven't been posting as frequently as I have been in the past. In fact, I don't find myself posting more than once or twice a day!

It's a tough job and I guess someone's got to do it. I've always been impressed with the way you've managed to provide a balanced viewpoint. If you think you would like assistance - or, indeed, feel it's time to move on - I'll go with your judgement. Whatever, best wishes for the future.

ABCD,

Nothing ground-shatteringly morbid has happened in my life recently, thankfully. But yes, migration does take the wind out of you in a sense. Applying for it was the easy part, as I keep telling everyone.

Hi Peter,

It's a little difficult to vote in the poll as I would vote for an additional not an instead of. Perhaps rewording the poll would give a better view of what people would like.

Thanks Alan.

It's been a so-called tradition here - where the moderator would be "sacked" after he/she finally migrates. I have, so perhaps my time is up?

Don't worry Lindsey, I won't ban people for voting "yes" as much as Blair would jail you for voting "no" for the EU Constitution

The options have been expanded.

Pt
I have only seen good and valuable advice from you on this forum.
I would like to see you carry on. If you need help then that would be a better option than packing it in altogether.

Best wishes whatever you decide.

I'm going anywhere - I just think I have some non-BritishExpats issues to attend to at the moment.

BTW, there's a new moderator in town, so please welcome him with the usual "report post to moderator" or the PMs about something not working. We need to do our bit to make him feel at home
