yeah they have and now hope to be with them in about 5 hours....so hopefully hear more news around 3am.....then they have to travel to the surface and get asssessed etc.......so will prolly b at least dawn before we see them, all going well.

ahh just seen it on the BBC news, the newsreader was talking to the head of police in that area and they are ok and being treated. Thank god what an ordeal

They were freed at 4.45 I beleive....they both walked from the mine entrance(after being checked over and pressure washed) to be greeted by their families, They did their usual and took their tags from the board, and I must admit they looked in excellent shape, and had they got their way they would have walked out the gates of the mine.
They are now in hospital getting checked out and they are determined to go to Larry's funeral this afternoon at 1pm

just been on the news that they will be fit enough to attend the funeral, and probs will not be returning to the hospital after that

Wow - amazing! I must admit I shed a tear.
I imagine though that going to the funeral will be very difficult since they will be only hours out of contemplating the same possibility.
