Warehouse Cricket Even if the standard isn't quite right then the social aspects are worth it. |

Look up Comet 555. She's go a couple of young kids so would probably love to meet other young mums. They've only been here a short time too, and I think they also live in Springfield lakes.
I'll have a look and see what playgroups I can find in the area. |
Re: misrable down under
This is the only listing I can find. It says there is no vacancy but you never know how often the website is updated. Also, if you call they might know of other playgroups nearby.
Springfield Busy Kids Springfield Lakes Boulevard SPRINGFIELD LAKES QLD 4300 Feleice: 5540 7219 view more details Ages 0-5 years $3.00/visit. Venue: Spring Lakes Community Hall Sessions: Day Time Vacancy Wednesday Wed 1.30-3.30 No You could also try checking these other message boards. I've met up with a few other moms through the BubHub website: http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...isplay.php?f=1 http://members.essentialbaby.com.au/...p?showforum=23 Another option is to spend a little time at parks or McDonalds play area and try and meet some other moms. If you're close to the library you can see if they have toddler time stories for the kids. It is a little tougher to meet moms just by bumping into them, so a playgroup is definitely the way to go. If you're really bold you can always ask them if they live in the area and know of any playgroups. I'll do some more looking later on and see if I can find some meetups or other moms in your area. I just don't have time to do it today. |
Re: misrable down under
Sorry, Hales. I thought you had moved to Springfield for some reason. Were you renting there?
On another note, I may be heading your way for a few days in the next month or so. We'll have to meet up for a cuppa while I'm there. |
Re: misrable down under
Nope, we didn't rent there. But we were thinking about buying a house in Forest Lake for a while which I think is close to there.
Send me a PM or email before you leave so I know when you're coming. Where does your sister live? I'd love to finally meet you in person :) |
Re: misrable down under
I couldn't drive the first time we went and it is so restrictive. I did start lessons but then we had to come back to the uk.
Now, we are giving it another go. I have made sure that I passed my test in the meantime, so I will have far more freedom. Get to those BE meets, you will make loads of friends and so will the family. I met a friend at an unlikely place, the laudromat. Our stuff hadn't arrived so I had no washing machine, we were both waiting for our washing to finish and we got chatting .... that's how it works. I used to get chatting to all sort of people on the bus to town (they probably thought I was mad) but not only does it get you talking but you find out some very useful information from the locals ;) I even went on a weekend volunteer course to mentor teenager, they even paid for my blue card which enabled me to work with kids. ( Hubbie could look after the kids) or do a night course if there is any. Check out the noticeboards at the locals shops for mother meets etc, even sports teams for hubbie. Sometimes you have got to take yourself out of your comfort zone and just go for it. Failing that, we might be heading your way in the next mth or two, so you never know, a friend made already  Mandy |
