Default Min Wage

Hi guys,
can any one tell me what the min wage is in Oz (Perth) will prob be looking at evening work i.e. bar work. Also hubby would like to know how much are chippies on a day and what hours do they do. Are they like 12hr days he does in UK?

Thanks

Minimum wage depends on rules specific to the state or establishment and or type of work.

eg a bar person in a restaurant used to be covered by "The restaurant workers award", a bar person in a RSL club by another award (Clubs and Hotel Workers??? I think). One pays better than another.

What u really need is someone to tell you how much the local pub worker gets per hour in Perth. Sorry - I cant help.

There was until recently a FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE of $12.75 an hour. Under new IR Law reforms by the Howard government, the status of this is no longer guaranteed.

FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE (regardless of what job you held,eg, no employer in Australia could pay any adult worker less), was $12.75 an hour gross. This rate is no longer guaranteed.

Yes. So a barman (for example) could get $15 an hour at one place, and $19 at another. Or $9.
