Does anybody know what happens if you are living in Australia on the Investment Retirement visa? We are retired now and in our late 60s and are thinking of this inorder to join our daughter and her family shortly. There is the opportunity to invest for periods of 4 years at a time. Should we invest for several periods we would then be in our late 70z early 80s, and then become too infirm or unable for any reason to continue, would be then be asked to leave australia? Presumably after several periods of 4 year investments most people would have cut their ties with their motherland and have no home to go to! Can anybody help please?

Saying that, our neighbours are here on a retirement investor visa so I'll speak to them tomorrow morning over coffee and ask them if they know the answer to your question.

John has handled a fair few subclass 405 visa applications for clients and should be able to answer your questions.
Best regards.
