We used Overseas Emigration too but if they suggest you need help with your TRA and suggest a chap named John Nye then run away very quickly!!! We were told that John Nye would help my husbaned do his TRA application within 3 - 4 months but actually took just over 12 months but that was only after countless chasing of him and OE and then getting to the point where I was threatening to sue OE! It has taken us 2.5 years to get this far. We were originally going out on a family sponsored visa but due to John's time delay my husband's auntie and uncle (who are elderley ) became too ill to help us (the uncle has been hospitalised) and we have since had to go out on an SIR visa. OE have beenhelpfull since we got passed the TRA and very patient with my many questions but if your job is not a clear cut job ie. nurse, electrician etc.. then don't use OE! We are also in touch with a couple who are migrating to New Zealand whom we met at an OE seminar and they said that they weren't very impressed with them either. They are very expensive.

We are using Sheila and Shirley at Australian Migration Associates Ltd in Manchester, they have been very good, and seem to be very helpful, quite a laid back informal approach to dealing with you, but they seem to get things ticking along very nicely!!

I know several people that have used them and all been successful, so I would recommend them!! Their prices compared to some are also very reasonable!!

My advice is ring round a few and see which one you feel most comfortable talking to!!

sorry to hear that you had bed experience with John Nye

We are using him and he got us through TRA even with hic ups from Work managers, he's answered all our e-mails almost instanly on occasions! and phoned us to keep us informed of TRA problem when it arose!
I personally cannot recommend him enough, he is also dealing with our visa application and has gone out his way to help and assist!
Prehaps the OP should e-mail or phone several agent to make their own minds up, as most people will have a good or bad rep to say about most agents on here!
Go on your gut instinct, we did and it has worked for us so far!

www.visa-go.com got our visas in just under nine months. When you phone them in Edinburgh you can speak to the main man Darren. The bloke that normally answers the phone (Luke) is very good to!

We used George Lombard (http://www.austimmigration.com.au/ ) who was excellent. Do a search on his name in the immigration forum and you will find loads of people recommend him.

We used The Emigration Group in Chester www.emigrationgroup.co.uk They were friendly and efficient. A chap called Paul Arthur was our first contact at the interview stage.

Re: Migration Agents

Are you sure ? The migration consultants in the UK are not registered with either the MIA or MARA !
The original team at Go-Matilda have now left and the office phones in Melbourne and UK are manned by a serviced office who relays a message and the "consultant calls back"

Re: Migration Agents

Who is your contact in the UK ? It appears that the only person registered with the MARA and the MIA is Alan Collett himself. Our UK consultant is NOT registered and we never get any reply from emails .Any phone calls are by a call desk as the consultant works from home and she calls back some hours later. I should be very careful .Not recommended.

I replied to your post in the other thread too..

But here goes...

Most agents only have a specific person nominated as a MARA agent you would be dealing on a day to day basis with a consultant or partner. Although I am not using Go Matilda myself I know of them to be a reputable company.

You must also remember that these people are dealing with hundreds of applications for migration not just yours. So they will not respond to emails within 10 minutes.

The best advice I can give you as others have given me is PATIENCE !

Do not be concerned about the MARA issue with your consultant as all paperwork will be looked at and agreed by the MARA held person at Go Matilda making it official.

I am sure if you dropped a line to Alan he would be able to reassure you on this matter as well as the level of service you are being providing.

I hope this helps you a little !

Good luck in your adventure, its a rollercoaster !!
