Default The Migrant Experience

With just under 9 weeks to go we watched our copy of Outbound Publishing's The Migrant Experience one more time before we leave.

We originally watched it back when we were working on our TRA application, which now seems in a previous life!

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knows the outcome of any of the families featured in the video especially the chef from Barnsley who was supposed to be moving to Canada, wouldn't surprise me if they are still stuck in their little 2 up 2 down in Barnsley. They really didn't have much go about them and they sold everything and even got rid of the cat before they applied for the visa, in fact by the end of the video they still hadn't applied! Love to know their outcome.

Also we had a couple in Tazzie, guy was ex army, they seemed okay. A couple of strange bikers who moved to Mellie, strange is an understatement and they also turned into whinging poms!

There was also a welsh family who moved to New Zealand, although they nearly missed their flight! had about 5 mins before check in closed!!!

Sound good yea? If anyone want the video I shall post it to them, just give me a PM. All our stuff went to Oz today, so if its not packed with them its not going, so it either goes to one of you lot or in the bin!

I have watched my videos till they have all but worn out.

The chef going to Canada got 'tempted' into a better job in the Uk. I couldn't believe that and doubted their initial commitment.

I like the recent emigrate challenge DVD and would love to know about Kevin Woodland and what happened to him.

They were drippy though you have to admit.

That cat was lovely.

And as they said at the end of the video 'Danny will grow up a Brit' (outbound publishing music ends video)

I saw them screen testing new migrants at Sandown the other month.

No thanks (shudder)

Could you do it?

I think it would be quite intrusive.

I do like watching it though.

Yea, but they only show the juicy bit, the bits that make you look bad or sad.

We had an email the other week from a TV company who produce 'no going back'. Asked us to fill in the application form. Straight in the trash I'm afraid.

I think Outbound Publishing do a fair job with their video and noone particularly looks bad - except Kevin Woodland in the video perhaps.

The programme on TV, now that is something else.

Someone said the TV pay you well for doing it, but I dont know if that would be enough.

How did they get your details then?

I hope so.

Looks like pcc's are taking the full 40 days by the look of things.

Although we applied 26th March so we are not up to 40 days yet.

It might come tomorrow.

Has your video been snapped up yet? Because I'd love to see it if it's not been. Good luck with your move BTW - very exciting.
