Seems to be working OK for me

Basically it is a story from today's news about Nurses at the Royal Adelaide hospital complaining about the underfunding of MH services.

try logging on to NEWS.com.au and look at the South Australia page.

Calling all nurses and other professionals working in M.H. Do any hospitals employ psychotherapists (not psychologists)? I trained in the UK and worked in two large NHS teaching hospitals as well as in private practice but I have not seen any advertisments for vacancies since arriving here. I would very much like any leads that anyone can give me.

Thanks

After 15 years of working night shift in Acute psychiatric admissions, my wife has just today started a new role, in recreational rehabilitation, on days of course.

There has been no talk about this Union action in South Australia today, between her colleagues and herself, here in Victoria, and was very surprised when I just told her about it, as they are all Union members.

The Staff patient ratio, is the government system, is a federally alloted 5 patients to 1 staff member, and is maintained in Victoria, and across Australia generally, as far as she knows, in all government facilities.

If A patient gets ill and needs surgical treatment, or other General treatment they are admitted to those wards, which is a direct result of the de-institutionalisation of psychiatric treatment in Australia.

The government does employ psycho therapists, outside of hospitals.
