In this survey does liveable = safe and boring?
Calgary, Helsinki, Perth, Toronto, Adelaide and Auckland aren't even in the top 30 places I'd like to visit, never mind live in
Who in their right mind would want to live in Vienna over New York or Barcelona?

i'd pick New York over Sydney but maybe after a few months of living there I'd want to come back to Sydney.

The fact that you dont know this shows your ignorance re the music industry. There are as many gigs in Melbourne on any given night as there are in London.

Just shows that people will believe preconceived notions without looking into the actual facts..... Gawd knows how many times I've published the Gig Guides from Sydney and Melbourne on here for people to compare..
You can do it yourself. Fact is Melbourne is the Night life capital of Aus. Especially for live gigs. There are 3 Trance Capitals in the World....Come December/Jan/Feb those Ibiza and London DJ's head to Melbourne.... Carl Cox lives here now..... Plus Melbourne exports their own.
Any Genre, and style of music is available here at the highest level. Musos actually earn good money here, which is why it's sought after city for travelling musos to play on the world pub and club gig scene..
Your just not aware of where these people are playing.... Try the inner suburbs next time your in Melb
