Is Melbourne Really This Bad?

2. It is an overpriced and overcrowded dump;
3. It is an ugly city compared to Perth
4. There is too much crime and graffitti
5. Traffic congestion is horrendous and the tolls are a pain
6. Unless you can afford to stay within the tram catchment forget it
7. There are no decent beaches
8. It is like little Asia
9. Great place to visit but couldn't live there
10.......

3.Skyline is ugly as compared to Sydney and Toronto. Thug scribbles (graffiti) is regarded as an 'art' here. Real artists playing music near of the railway stations are not even looked at by thousands of passer-bys.
4. Recent survey shows 1 in every 5 motorists has been raged while driving. Tattoo sporting v8ers roar..
5. Some trams are more overcrowded than Lahore express. People waiting on platforms fume when they have to let at least 3 trains which filled upto the brim, before finally catching one.
8. And a little Samoa as well.

Melbourne tends to be more the focus of over-generalised, factually challenged ranting from bitter and jealous people from other Australian cities, (and yes, even around the world), who can't stand to see the place mentioned at the top of livability surveys.
Anyone can just say that a city is crap without giving any factual basis or even any detailed reasoning and gullible people will buy it.
If Melbourne didn't have the reputation it does as being one of the world's most livable cities people would not be so desperate to cut the place down. Tall poppy syndrome anyone?
