Default Melbourne accomodation

To everyone,
We are moving to Melbourne by January 2010 from UK. We are a family of five.
3 boys 9, 5 and a year old. Me and my wife are nurses and I have a job waiting in Richmond. I thought it would be a good idea to rent a place on the outskirt of Richmond, somewhere in Box hill probably because I got some mates emigrating there as well about the same time with me. My problem is I would like to take my family with me and we were wondering about temporary accomodation. Can anyone help?

Hiya have you tried Kate at moving to Melbourne, i know she has access to quite a few furnished houses dotted around Melbourne.

Good Luck with the move, at least it will be lovely and warm for your arrival, lol.

How long do you want the temporary accommodation for?

January is a month everyone is on holiday so I would strongly suggest you contact Kate sooner rather than later.

There does seem to be a few short term places up boxhill/Doncaster way so hopefully in same area you intend staying longer term. But Kate will have more knowledge for you.

Hi we are also moving to Melbourne but in Feb and looking at temp accomm for when we first arrive but ideally we need it furnished which it appears to prove more difficult especially as our furniture will take about 12wks to arrive.

What do most people do in these situations? Love to contact Kate too

You could also look at serviced apartment places like Quest (there are 2 in Kew on the Boxhill tram line but v. close to Richmond) or look on stayz.com.au.

Thank you all for your help, I'm really grateful.Moving is really stressful with such a young family like ours. My employer has agreed to arrange a temporary accomodation for us. Thanks.
