I think you will find that he is in the Dandenongs, not Dandenong itself.

Big difference

Am i missing something? i know we only went for a couple of weeks and cant expect to get a real insight.

Ive heard that Melbourne grows on you....i really hope thats true

Lee

( even more confused after our trip than i was before we went ! )

Hi Lee
What was it that didn't meet with your expectations? We nearly moved there from Sydney 8 years ago but ended up in Brisbane. For me it was simply the weather. I love Melbourne, I think it's the best city in Oz and we visit quite often, but I wouldn't live there as I enjoy the warmer climate and beach lifestyle and at the end of the day, we don't tend to do much city stuff in our day to day lives.
You really need to look at what you want to achieve from your move. Maybe you just didn't see enough or maybe it just isn't the right place for you?

Can't help you, mate as I loved it from the moment I got here....but then it grew on me too:lol:

Perhaps you really need to ask yourself what is your motivation from emigrating and how would Melbourne fit into this framework, if it can. I agree with Fraser, Melbourne isn't for everyone...no where is:)

I agree with you Master Shakmaty...:) Melbourne as a whole city is very varied, some great areas, the leafy, the old, the cosmo, the beach, the city and the downright cultureless. It really does matter that where you end up suits want you want at that time.

I think Lee needs to concentrate on the work and schooling aspect, lifestyle a little less and remember that wherever he settles might not be forever.

Melbourne is a grower in my opinion but I might end up in Brisbane at some later date.

I will never say anything is forever, but Melbourne feels good just now. Where I am, what I do, and the people I've met work well for me.

Saying that, I'm glad I severed my ties to Noble Park:eek::D

How's you, anyway?:)

Ifit's the Friday thingy, then I won't be, as I run a chess club on a Friday night now....in fact I'm going to have to go out in a minute.

However, we'll have to all catch up at some stage....you coming back on BE a bit more nowadays?

Yes, back more regularly now. I have felt the need to stay away from everyone. Would love to meet up with you and missus soon.
