Default meet up in perth in july? for my son and i to make friends

hi guys, i know july seems a long way off ....but having just got my visa and booked my flights ,i am now onto the worrying about my 10yr old settling in part! We arrive in Perth on 9th July and i wondered if anyone with or without kids fancied meeting up and swapping stories and advice? Maybe kings park one weekend?

Hi Hannah & Zack

My husband, 13 year old daughter and myself would love to meet up with you in Kings Park come July, we're not long here and know how you must be feeling, we've settled in now, daughter adores it and we've met some nice people through this site.

Which part of Perth are you thinking of going to? We're in Hillarys.

Keep in touch and good luck with everything

Hi, I've been in Perth for nearly 7 weeks. I'm here with my husband Nick, and four daughters 13,10, 3 and 2. We've moved to Kinross. We would love to have a get together with you in Kings Park and with anyone else too x

I used to organise a meetup every 8 weeks in King's Park, but stopped a while ago. If you are looking to get together for a meetup, set a date, time, an area of the park and post the information.

I must warn you, though, July is usually pretty crap weather for outdoor meets. It tends to rain quite a bit in July and August.

We're arriving in July, not booked flights yet, only just decided to rent out our house and make the move!

We will come to any meet ups too!

We are Vicky, Rob, Rowan (18), Rochelle (16 nearly), Niamh (3 nearly 4).

Hi Hannah, will check those airlines for prices, thnx. It is a big move, but with all the years of planning, then house not selling etc... it is now quite scary and exciting at the same time!

Good luck on your move, and see you soon x

Hi,
We would love to meet up. We arrive on 6th July. Me (Graham), Angie, James 10 and Lauren 2.

Felt a right git today. James has said he doesn't want to move as he'll miss his friends, Nan/Grandad, house....the list goes on ! We'll do anything we can do to make it easier for him to settle in so any meet ups would be great.

Hi Graham, my daughter who is will be 16 in Sept doesn't want to come either. She is really rebelling, so understand how you feel. I know that if she makes new friends quite quickly it will help her, so we will be doing our best too get her socialising quickly when we get there.

We are hoping to fly out the last weekend in June now.

Good luck

Vicky

hi guys, my 10 yr old doesnt want to go to oz either and even though i feel rotten for making him come with me i also know that at 10 yrs old he will make new friends and that he isnt in a position to make decisions this big! I intend for him to have a say in schools and which property we choose and its his choice of rugby and football. Im sure once we all get our stubborn kids there they will love it, so try not to worry too much about them, its us that will be home sick and worried about money and trying hard at making friends!!good luck to you all and hopefully see you in july xx

We have now been here 7 months and our daughter, 13 was not pleased about coming out either but she is so happy it's unbelievable, it didn't take her long at all to make new friends, the schools are very conscience that a lot of the kids have migrated and really try to involve them. It was me who's been homesick and found it hard to make new contacts but bear with it because I feel more settled now. Kids are much more adaptable than us!!

Hi
We are just coming up to our first anniversary of moving to Oz and still feel like newbies, but we have no regrets about the big move. Our 5 yr old does not need an excuse to meet other kids although he does love it here. We live in Port Kennedy (South of Perth). What area are you moving to?
