Hi, we have a Mazda Tribute and I really like it. However the middle seat belt is just a lap belt, I don't know if that's the same on them all but I should imagine it is. Doesn't matter for us as we just have 2 children but it was one of your ones listed so thought I'd tell you!

We have a Prado and are pleased with it. Loads of room for the boards and two dogs. Great car.

We have Prado GXL SE and a Honda CRV SE both new in 2005. Both have proved reliable and have done everything we have asked of them including pulling a 5m boat up a mud boat ramp!

Both thoroughly recommended

Hi Folks,

Thanks for all the feedback , I'm kind of leaning towards the Nissan X-Trail at the moment but shall wait to see if there's any more advice on offer.

The Sorrento has a very powerful engine and is a good size family car with a huge boot. 4WD Lo/Hi or 2WD by flicking a switch on demand.
Mind you, (OP asked), the middle rear seat belt is not 3-point but just a buckle but I think new models now have 3-point.
Want to buy mine it's just over 3 yrs old? I want to buy a new one.

Andrew
Im seriously considering buying one of these, there doing them at $32,990 at present driveaway for the Auto, (2006 model) not sure if there's a facelift due as its described as a "runout deal"
As Amazulu says the Diesel looks to be a good choice when it comes in (although I bet there will be a wait list for them)
How does your's go on Petrol? what would it cost to fill from empty (assume $1.10litre)
and roughly how far would that get you for normal day to day travel (no major freeway runs)?
How about servicing costs?

Steve
2nd hand market for them here in Perth is very good, they only seem to be about 15% cheaper for one a year old.

I think it's getting a facelift which will probably coincide with the release of the diesel. The petrol has a 3.5l V6 so will be thirsty. $33k is an excellent price though.

I did consider but liked others better. Nicknamed the Nissan entrails as it had no guts! Suggest a good and tough test drive. I do like Nissan Morano? New one. Something like that. Expensive though.

Believe it or not, Kia has it's own forum http://www.kia-forums.com/kia-sorento-forum/ which can be useful to get good and bad opinions
Australian News review: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...-13232,00.html
Interesting story of a 24,000 Km global trip in a standard Sorrento http://eng.kia.sk/news/index.php?news&&data_id=60

Mine is 3.5L V6, 80L tank and I get around 500 Km/70L (7Km/L or 14L/100 Km) so not so bad considering!

Looking for a new one too - prefer to sell the current one rather than PX. Any offers?

Andrew
