Medicals in the South
We were recently advised by other expats that travelling around could save hundreds off the cost of medicals,
where in the south did people have theirs done, and how much did it cost
there is 4 of us 2 adults two children under 6

We're in South Wales and for three of us (2 adults one child) the total for X-Rays, meds and bloods was £500!! Lot of money I reckon!

I rang around a lot of the London ones and it really does differ (for one person from £100-180) The one in Kingston was one of the cheapest I've found and came highly recommended by quite a few people on another site. Being south London/Surrey it wouldn't be too bad for you to get to.

The other plus, I cant recrecommend Mallum and the surgery highly enough, they did everything they could to get us in promptly and squeeze us into the space (huh, not that that matters at the mo'!!) and Dr Mallum was excellent.

We're having medicals done at The Bridge Clinic in Maidenhead. It's £160 per adult (this includes the x-rays; it'a all done at the same place). Don't know how much for children, as we don't have any.
Others have said this clinic is great. Let's hope so, as the medicals are today :scared:

Pricey though!
Cost for us: 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 7) = £570
Broken down: Adults £200 each (but as nurses we had to have lots of blood tests). 7 yr old: £120 (just medical, no bloods)
5 yrs old: £50 (cheaper medical as under 6)
I agree though: Dr Goodall was very nice.
Hope this helps and see you at the meet on 24th July.

P.S. This didn't include xrays. These were done at Chalybeate...another £61 for each adult!

We went to Gatwick, £200 each for both of us for meds and xrays and they were so straightforward - in and out of the docs in less than 10 mins!

They are very good though, staff are really good.
You get a really fetching garment to wear when you are having your x ray done, doesnt hide much, if you get my meaning. Cross your arms over your chest!

Hi Wayne
Dr Wilson from Chichester Mallam & Wilson surgery. x-rays £60 each, medicals £85 each adults, £50 each children, bloods £25 each adults only. He was really good and put Alex at ease when he had to have blood tests (needle phobic 12 year old who needed tests due a previous tranfusion history). He even sent me an email to let me know that Alex's bloods all came back ok.
I was also able to book the appointment at 10 days notice.
