Hi Gina

I am planning to go to the same clinic. When you say 'a breast exam and other unpleasant tests@ could you be more specific? Surely they do not have to do a gyne exam as part of the medical?

Just make sure you get the right Dr! - the Bridge clinic have different ones on different days - we had one of the male Drs - no groping - all clothes stayed on - did lift up top to feel stomach - certainly was thorough but not unpleasant in any way.

Also I wondered if perhaps the tests vary depending on certain risk factors such as age, smoking, weight etc? I personally didn't care what tests they did as long as we passed!

Anyone been to ThorpeWood surgery in Norwich ????

We were joking about the prices of our x rays to be in and out in half an hour and spend £130 was I think the most we've spent in such a short space of time though thtat will be eclipsed when we spend £560 on the medicals.

So not looking forward to this, think i'll phone the surgeryup on Monday after I get back from work adn find out what will happen try and put my mind at rest or at least i'll prepare myself with massive undies.

Well this is all rather odd because I was asked to take all my clothes off and touch my toes.

He insisted my husband left the room and I heard all kinds of rustling from his desk and he emerged with some kind of tape measure and said he had to measure my buttocks.

Of course I was terrified because I have an arse like a total eclipse mixed with cottage cheese for cellulite.

But when the rubber gloves came out and he slowly pinged each finger until it fitted snugly onto his hand, he said 'Samantha, just how badly do you want to get in to Australia?' Then I cried.

Only joking!!!

I didnt remove anything other than my top for a breast exam. He felt my abdomen, did heart and lung/BP check but no other clothes off.

It was far easier and more informal than I imagined as well.

Good job because I wouldnt inflict my body on anyone.
