Am currenty apply to migrate to OZ and am wondering if we are in anyway eligble for medicare assistance within the first 2 years we are going under the subclass of 138 Austrailian Sponsered skilled, if not what is the best cover for a family of 6 ( 2 adults 4 children ages 8 to 17)

When you get here you can claim medicare immediately. This will give you some subsidised access to healthcare, but you still usually pay up-front and then get a portion of it back down the track. A good thing to get is private ambulance cover - if you have to call one out here and you have no private cover, then it will cost you several hundreds of dollars.
The same for dental - it costs a fortune, so get into a private plan ASAP, and many of the categories have waiting periods of several months before you can make a claim, and you want to server that out ASAP.
