Does anyone know nice suburbs around McMahons Point in Sydney? Also, which is the best website for professional share houses?
Thanks

Well, McMahons Point itself is a very nice suburb, IMO. Lived there for two years when we first arrived.
Is that where you're going to be working? If so, how will you get there - do you want to be within walking distance, drive, take the train, etc.?
The Lower North Shore is generally a very nice area. Can be very quiet on a weekend. What kind of facilities are important to you?
I don't know anything about flatshares so the only site I've heard of is Gumtree. Do NOT hand over any money until you have met the landlord/agent and seen the property!

ALL the suburbs around McMahons Point are nice. McMahons Point itself is particularly nice with the best views (I reckon) in the whole of Sydney.
I've just this minute returned home from driving over that way (my son lives in Waverton, the next suburb) and as usual I was gobsmacked by the amazing view of the city and bridge at night.
I'd live there. If I could afford it...

The car park at the bottom of Blues Point Road has one of the best night time views in Sydney, I reckon. A picnic supper on the grass bank there is priceless.

I know where you mean. We always take visiting people there for photos. Lovely spot.
My husband, years ago (before I knew him) lived in a bedsit/flatshare place in Bayview Street, McMahons Point with amazing views. The house he was in was run-down and he reckoned it was a cheap area to live in then.
If only he'd bought it at the time. Grrr.

The worst thing round there for us was parking. If I was lucky enough to live there again, it would have to come with a space.

Re: McMahons Point, Sydney
Thanks for the replies, the role I may be taking up hasn't been confirmed as of yet so I'm just putting the feelers out in case it does happen in the near future. The small office is in McMahons Point - thus I was thinking best to find somewhere nearby to live to cut down travel costs if possible.
It's good to know the area is nice. Was a bit wary about securing a share house via Gumtree, I've found domain.com.au where you can search for a share house.
Do you know what would be an acceptable salary for a single person in a share house in Sydney? (I'll be sharing until my partner can join me next year)
