It's been a while since we bought our mattress, but there were all sorts of sizes.

The queen should fit...measure your mattress and I'll find out for you over the weekend

Hi Possoms,

we are not ignoring you, just not too sure of the answer. I brought a queen size bed back from oz, I now have a king size i bought here in the UK, to be honest they both seem to be the same size. Sorry cant help with your problem. Will send you karma to make you feel better.

From experience having brought over my UK furniture and bought Aussie bedding, here goes..

Not sure about single beds, don't have any of them.

English and Aussie doubles are the same size, Aussie bedding will fit UK bed and vice versa.

English King Size is equivalent to an Aussie Queen Size, however, the UK matress is a couple of cm narrower than an Aussie on so fitted sheets don't fit perfectly (not hanging off the bed or anything but not totally tight on the matress.

Aussie King Size is same width as Queen but a foot longer.

Just to give exact measurements have a look at http://www.fortywinks.com.au/html/sleep_tips.asp down towards the bottom

It has been said on BE that mattress's are very expensive in oz so check out the prices first.

Hi its a spare double that we've got, dismantled at present, the mattress was used by a lodger Col had, and erm wasnt shall we say very clean so we chucked it.

Thought we should take it for one of the spare rooms saves buying another.

Suni&Jay thanks will check it out, though buying another here means more volume in the container, we are having a shared container not enough stuff for a full one

We found them very comparable in price really. Ranges from down right cheap to the very expensive top of the line latex matress and everything in between.

Generally I would advise bringing them since why bother to spend money on new unless you have to ?

Of course...they could be well used

Aussie King is a foot wider than Queen . (6 feet wide, so why do we only use the middle 3 feet? )
