Does anybody know if you can buy a double bed size mattress in Australia or are they all different sizes over there? Was planning to take double bed over from the UK without the mattress, and just buy a new mattress over there.

You might get some answers if you ask a mod to move your post to the Australia or Barbie forums. This forum is about the immigration process, most people in here have not even got a visa for Australia yet never mind know about mattress sizes.

Yep, you can buy double bed size mattresses here. Have a look at somewhere like thebedwarehouse to get prices.

I think the proportions are different though, so be careful....

King / Queens definitely different. We bought a king matress for our UK king bed frame and was different size
luckily we bought from a manufacturer who collected the matress and adjusted it to our UK size!

Double: 1350mm by 1890mm
Queen: 1520mm by 2020mm
(which are different to Ikea UK

)You will find the mattress to match your bed frame a lottttttttt cheaper in the UK!

Looks like we would be better buying a new one now and shipping it. Thanks for all your replies
