Default Maternity support

My wife holds an Australian passport and has been living and working in the UK for the last 8years. We have now moved back to Australia. Our second child will be born in July. My wife has previously worked in Australia and paid taxes.
1. Does she get financial allowance/support for maternity from Australia
2. Would she get the statutory maternity allowance pay from the UK?
IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED THE ABOVE SITUATION.
MANY THANKS

Maternity pay and leave is to allow people who are employed to take a break from their job and then return to this job. As your wife is no longer employed, either in the UK or in Australia, she is not eligible for this type of income support in either country.

If you and your wife meet the income, residency and other criteria, you may be able to claim the Australian Family Tax Benefit or Parenting Payment, see here https://www.humanservices.gov.au/ind...irth-your-baby

Well, I guess the OP could do that. Or he could just accept that maternity pay and maternity leave (Statutary Maternity Pay) is linked to the employer, it's for people who are employed.
